A Clean, Well-lighted Place Response

Authors Note: This is a response to the short story A Clean, Well-lighted place. I found the story quit interesting.
Write a brief analysis of the two waiters.  What do they represent about life? What does the café symbolize?

The Older waiter represents patience, and understanding while the other waiter represents youth, impatience, and uncaring. I think the café could represent a shelter since it is a clean, well-lighted place compared to the bars nearby that are dark and filthy. The old man would come to this cafe because it was nicer.
